The Luminosity Collection by Heidi Farina focuses on the interplay of glowing light with our variable landscapes in Washington state. From the glowing glacial caps atop volcanic giants, to the layers of fog dappling light through mountain forests, and the last light of day dancing off of the Salish Sea. The collection is an ode to the landscapes and variable light that create a sense of luminosity in our Pacific Northwest landscapes.

The Seattle Art Fair’s highly anticipated 7th edition returns to the Lumen Field Event Center. It has earned its reputation as a one-of-a-kind destination for the very best in modern and contemporary art since 2015, bringing together 85 top local, national and international galleries.

July is the perfect month to showcase Bethann Lawson’s new exhibition of summer paintings. Her popular modern-impressionist style is reflected in these contemporary interpretations of summers, both past and present.

For the month of June we are excited to introduce the work of Ukrainian born artist Vita Kobylkina at Gray Sky Gallery. Her hyper-realistic still life paintings cover subjects ranging from various food items to vintage objects that she collects. She takes pleasure in the meditative moments that painting provides and enjoys the challenge of painting novel subjects through commissioned artwork. Her opening will take place during Pioneer Square First Thursday Art Walk on June 1, from 5-8 pm.

Our May show brings quite the dichotomy at Gray Sky Gallery. We will be pairing the textured 3D skulls of Patti Curtis with the smooth waxy sheen of Jen Chamber’s Encaustic Paintings. Patti’s vintage cow skull sculptures are made with a variety of mediums, print, paint, sculpting, and assemblage. Jen draws from her interpretation of nature and strives to interlace movement with serenity through both common and abstract forms in her encaustic pieces. Artist Reception will take place during Pioneer Square First Thursday Art Walk on May 4, from 5-8 pm.

This April we have a group show featuring Erik Andrew and Kelly Rae Cunningham. In Erik’s “Underpants” series the people and objects are conveyed with remarkable skill both in the humor and the absurdity of the human condition. Figures are exaggerated, bodies and expressions are distorted in ways that manage to simultaneously disturb and amuse; the effect is bizarre, funny and sometimes frightening .Kelly Rae’s work is grounded in experimentation and exploration. Her abstract paintings employ layers of color, worked with palette knives and brushes, whimsical use of dot and line, and energetic brush strokes. Reception will take place during Pioneer Square First Thursday Art Walk on April 6th, from 5-8 pm.

This March we have an exciting two man show featuring B Line Dot and Jeff Wilson. Blinedot is heavily influenced by music, poetry, cityscapes and nature. He will be displaying some new floral oil paintings. Jeff Wilson will be featuring some new work from his “Signs of the Time” series with large scale acrylic paintings of local neon signs. Artist Reception will take place during Pioneer Square First Thursday Art Walk on March 2nd, from 5-8 pm.

In February we will be featuring “It Takes a Village”- Mixed Media Paintings by Laura Van Horne. Upcycled materials such a vintage matchbooks and matchbook covers, and vintage wallpaper, fabrics and papers are used in these highly textured oil and acrylic paintings. Artist Reception will take place during Pioneer Square First Thursday Art Walk on Feb 2nd, from 5-8 pm.

In January we will be featuring the colorful acrylic paintings of Brooke Borcherding with her contemporary take on deconstructed Seattle City Scenes. Artist Reception will take place during Pioneer Square First Thursday Art Walk on January 5th, from 5-8 pm.

For the month of December we will be featuring Terry Richardson with her deconstructed, upcycled book paintings, along with Magdalena Cooney and her large scale abstracted acrylic landscape paintings.
