In their December exhibition “Crossroads” Laura Van Horne and Karen Abel investigate the symbolic resonance of the Swiss Cross. Through a collaborative and independent dialogue, this iconic shape becomes a vessel for stories of personal metamorphosis and pivotal life choices. Each crossroad signals not only a shift in direction, but an intersection of reflection, opportunity, anticipation, and uncertainty. “Crossroads” honors the form’s inherent balance, repetition, connectivity, and weight. The concept comes alive through the structural contrast of the work: Van Horne’s intricate, multi-layered mixed media narratives pair with Abel’s richly textured ceramic surfaces.
Please join us at Gray Sky Gallery, 320 1st Ave S, Thursday, December 3rd from 5-8 pm for the opening reception. Laura and Karen will be at the opening and excited to speak with you about thier work.
