Amy Stone - Artist Statement:
My work is rooted in a deep love of color, texture, and movement—elements that allow me to express emotion in ways words often can’t. I paint primarily with acrylics, layering them with chalk and oil pastels to create depth, contrast, and a sense of lived-in texture.
Although much of my process is intuitive, I’m constantly focused on finding balance—between softness and strength, chaos and calm, boldness and restraint.
A recurring theme in my work is the abstracted female form. I’m drawn to exploring untraditional beauty, celebrating the fluidity, complexity, and quiet power found in feminine energy. These forms emerge not as literal figures, but as impressions—gestures that hint at presence, perspective, and story, inviting the viewer to create their own narrative on the piece.
My studio is a place of experimentation and discovery, where each painting becomes its own dialogue. I hope my work allows viewers to feel something personal—whether it’s connection, curiosity, or simply a sense of peace.
